Is there a difference between short term and long term food storage?

March 31, 2009 - "Is there a difference between short term and long term food storage? By Joseph Parish. When sitting among the various survival groups you often hear it said that someone is storing this or that for their short term storage and this and that for their long term storage. This is actually utter nonsense as the only difference in the short and the long term storage should be the quantity of products that are being stored. Click here

Butter when you need it

March 30, 2009 - "Butter when you need it" By Joseph Parish. During extreme times of crisis and under emergency conditions you can certainly bet that you will not find any sort of butter in your local food stores. Butter will tend to become a valuable commodity in those particular times. Click here

The Fate of the Elderly During a Crisis

March 29, 2009 - "The Fate of the Elderly during a Crisis" By Joseph Parish. We often wonder what will be our reactions during some type of major disaster or crisis. Will we behave as we expect ourselves to? Will we do everything by the book as we had planned? Will we be able to provide for our loved ones properly? There are more questions then we have answers for. Under the expected circumstances all we can do is guess as to what our actions will be. Click here

Animals in Emergency Shelters

March 28, 2009 - "Animals in Emergency Shelters" By Joseph Parish. Often people complain that they can not take their animals into emergency shelters. As many persons become displaced from their homes during times of crisis and they are relocated in evacuation centers one of their major gripes is not being able to bring their pets with them. Granny know how when dealing with Bee Stings

March 27, 2009 - "Granny know how when dealing with Bee Stings" by Joseph parish. When it comes to bee stings there can be no doubt in my mind that granny knew best. If you search around I am sure that you will encounter at least a dozen or so different remedies that originate from someone’s family tree telling you how to deal with stings experienced by bees and wasps. I think I Ripped my Pants

March 26, 2009 - "I Think I Ripped my Pants" By Joseph Parish. The title may sound like a tale from the popular kid’s show SpongeBob SquarePants however it has a certain ring of truth to it when it comes to survival. Surviving in the wild can be rough not only on the individual but also upon the persons clothing. Burrs on the woodland bushes are certain to snag the pants as are the overhanging branches getting caught on ones shirt. Add to that the amount of dirt that could be collected from a romp in the woods and the poor washing conditions and your clothing is certainly not going to last that long. Click here

Too Much BOB Junk

March 25, 2009 - "Too much BOB junk" By Joseph Parish. Ahhh, here we have the sweet life of a survivalist. Every now and then I decide to get away from it all and jump in the bug out van and merely travel a short distance from civilization. It tends to opens up ones sense of survival and produces some clear thinking. I made this exact decision just the other day. I packed up the laptop computer so that I could still do a bit of writing and headed for parts of Delaware that are relatively unknown. I took my cell phone in the event of an emergency and off I went. Click here

Alternate Plans for safe Retreats

March 24, 2009 - "Alternate plans for safe retreats" While we may think that we are clever and very smart when it comes to creating different scenarios which could take place in the real world when danger threatens us we may find that we are merely fooling ourselves. We will never know for sure if we are selecting the proper course of hunkering down or perhaps to bug out. Click here

Communications Capabilities

March 23, 2009 - "Communications Capabilities" By Joseph Parish. One of the foremost questions that many people ask is what they can do about obtaining valuable information and communicating with other people during times of crisis. Let’s face it our cell phones may not be much use to us after the emergency generators that operate the cell phone towers run out of fuel and are effectively dead. Click here

On the Value of MP3's in Bug out vehicles

March 23, 2009 - I recently wrote an article entitled "On the value of MP3 Players in Bug Out vehicles". This was an article that was placed on the web site and stressed the use of the old time radio shows during bug out situations. As such I have uploaded a CD worth of these old radio shows. These are in MP3 format and in order to play in a normal CD would need to be converted. Click here

Security of Our State and Home...

We need to make sure that we are contacting the State Senate and House to get a state sovereignty bill passed to protect Delaware from fed's over reaching there grab for power. Check out this petition http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/delaware-to-reclaim-its-sovereignty.html if you are from Delaware please go read and sign.

Now, have you survey your defense around you castle? Think about it, the U.S.S.A- pays millions to people to survey security, but yet they can't close the border. That is a topic for another post. Take a nice long walk around your neighbor hood, and think of all kinds of threats. Not just SHTF, but natural disasters. Do you know at least 5 different ways to move out if need be, to avoid traffic or the NWO police? Now that I have moved to the new castle, I am also preaching to myself. I will be doing a little of this each night, until complete. What are some security ideas that you have instuited at your castle? Please don't disclose all just a few general that everyone may not have thought of. Why is that companies like ADT, Brinks and others think you need to pay them to protect your castle? These companies must have deals with goverments or some companies that as soon as you buy your house they must start calling. Well I think I will save my $40 bucks a month and secure my own castle the way I see fit.

Are our castles secure, you be the judge not anyone else.

Toxic Ziploc Omelet Procedure

March 22, 2009 - "Toxic Ziploc Omelet procedure" By Joseph Parish. I recently came across several people suggesting a procedure that I have listed in this article as dangerous. This article was written by me in February of 2008. I thought in view of what is currently circulating around the net now it would be a good time to repost it. Click here

A case of Preparedness and rough economic times

March 22, 2009 - "A case of preparedness and rough economic times" By Joseph Parish. I recently glanced at an commentary that essentially stated there were over 250 million people that are affected by disaster every year. These figures are unquestionably believable and I have no doubt in my mind that they are accurate. The same article proceeded to say that in order to preserve the safety and readiness of your family you should be amassing what is referred to as Ready food Kits. Click here

Shipping Rates of Survvial Supplies

March 21, 2009 - "Shipping Rates of Survival Supplies" By Joseph Parish. While aimlessly drifting from one survival store to the other on the internet recently I noticed that numerous people had been complaining about the venders cost of shipping survival related items. I too have experienced this dilemma predominantly with e-bay stores. It never stops astounding me how many people can turn out to be extremely ravenous during periods when they should feel most generous. Click here
